2-bedroom shared short term accommodation, Forbes Street

going off on a 3-month fieldwork trip to Germany and looking for someone to fill in that 3-month short term period while I am away. The period starts from the 25th of November 2016 to the 28th February 2017 (! ).

If you are a student who's just starting at ANU this Summer Semester in January 2017, this would be the perfect opportunity to bridge that transition from home to finding your stable place to stay in Australia. Most students who opt to stay at a motel / Campus lodging while looking for a more suitable apartment may be frustrated either because of limited rooms or high prices ($300/week). So the room that I am offering is your best bet of making your welcome in Australia easy and not too costly.

The room is spacious and fully furnished. It has a built-in wardrobe so large that I can barely fill half of it with my clothes / luggage. It fits a luxurious queen-sized memory foam mattress with 500-thread count bed sheets and thin blanket to wrap yourself twice around - perfect for the summer weather. The room is connected to a spacious balcony with chairs and tables to sip your summer mint julep or margaritas or even enjoy a fresh ice cold smoothie in the sun. The morning sun lights up the room well through a large window pane and the glass door to the balcony, and has thick blinds to completely darken the room or to shade yourself from the Australian summer sun.

The living room is connected to the kitchen; with a sofa, a sound system, a ps4-console and high-speed VDSL with speeds of 50 Mbps, entertainment is endless. The kitchen is fully furnished with 4 electric stoves, an oven, a dishwasher, a fridge and a microwave to cater your culinary needs. Enough glass wines, coffee mugs, plates, even a french press to make your stay as homely as possible. The bathroom has a dryer and a 7 kg front load washing machine, with ironing boards and an iron to ready yourself for an important day.

The apartment is less than a 8-minute bicycle ride to ANU, 20-minutes to UNSW@Canberra; and a 10-minute car ride to the UC. If you have a car, we have 1 allocated unused secure parking space in the basement with remote controlled gates. If not, it's just a 1-minute away from the bus stop on Northbourne Avenue, with rapid bus routes connecting you to anywhere you need to go. It is also 5-minutes bicycle ride away from the city shops and nightlife at Braddon, at the same time the apartment is on a street that's quiet and peaceful.

You'll be sharing with one other male housemate from England. He is a postgraduate student, easy-going, open and active who will find time to crack a beer, start a bbq or even go on a hike with you, enjoying the company of outgoing and like-minded people.

That means, preferably, we are looking for someone aged between 20-30 years old, a student, whose keen to go out, make new friends, learn the ways of living in Australia's capital city Canberra! The rent would be $200/week, including electricity, internet and water/gas. Being international students ourselves, we understand the difficulty of being abroad. So if in case you are interested but unable to be here personally, Skype video calls can be arranged in the three different languages we can communicate in: English, German and Malay.

We can also communicate via Whatsapp, Facebook or even Snapchat the apartment to you if you need more convincing.
