Description

Furnished room now available in friendly Macquarie sharehome!

Yes, the room is still available. It is ideally suited for a long stay post-graduate student.

A female and/or male housemate is wanted for a fully-furnished room available now in friendly Macquarie home. We are seeking an easy going and mature person to share our comfortable, fully furnished, 4 bedroom, two storey house in Canberra's inner west.

Available is a mid-sized single bedroom with a view over the valley for $150 pw. The bedroom is fully furnished including a bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bookcase, chair and desk, and wireless internet access. All bedding is supplied including sheets, blankets, pillows and doona.

The house is well furnished with all the usual modern conveniences, and with polished floor boards throughout. The kitchen includes a breakfast bar, while the dining area looks out over the front garden. The lounge has an entertainment hub with TV and Hi-Fi. The entry alcove includes a study with library.

The utilities include gas powered hydronic space heating and instant hot water, electric cooking, and an evaporative cooling system. The laundry has a front loading washing machine and dryer.

For outdoor entertaining there is a large covered deck at the rear with a BBQ, table and chairs for relaxing alfresco. From the deck there are great views over the valley towards Black Mountain. The back yard is leafy and sunny, with a patio area and a shed for storage.

Currently there are 3 housemates in the home; two female ANU students, and one male, myself, an IT professional working in a government department. We are a warm, friendly and relaxed household, and are looking for a like minded person to join us in our comfortable, convivial and peaceful home.

Situated in a quiet tree lined street at the high end of the suburb, there are plenty of walks to enjoy in the neighbouring reserves. You can easily walk to the Jamison and Belconnen town centres, or if you prefer, you can ride a bike to the University of Canberra.

Located right near the bus stop around the corner, its just a short trip to the Jamison Shops, Belconnen Mall, the University of Canberra, or into the City and the Australian National University.

Best of all, why drive? You can walk to Belconnen in just 15-20 minutes! Just leave your car at home and enjoy an easy stroll to work at Belconnen. No more traffic, and no more parking fees! Breathe easy, get healthy and enjoy the day.

Rent is a reasonable $150 pw for the single room with the garden views. An extra $30 per week contributes to all the equally shared utility costs and household expenses. As bills in Winter are more costly than in Summer, mainly due to heating, expenses are balanced out to a yearly average, based on 4 people sharing the house. Variations in these costs are later balanced against contributions. There is also a bond of $500.

If you think this could be your new home just give me a call, send me a text, or send an email, to arrange a suitable time to view the house.

Looking forward to meeting you.
